Soprano

    · Hungarian mezzo-soprano Éva Látrányi “made a promising début” (The New York Times) singing the role of the Shepherd (Tosca) with New York Grand Opera at Central Park’s Summer Stage.
    ·  Since then, also with NYGO, she has performed the roles of Annina (La Traviata) at Flushing Town Hall, Sister Zelatrice (Suor Angelica), Kate Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly), The Countess Ceprano (Rigoletto) and Second Voice (Turandot) at Central Park.
    ·  Ms. Látrányi has also appeared as Olga (Eugene Onegin) with New York Opera Studio, and covered the role of Prince Orlofsky (Die Fledermaus) with Opera New York on off-Broadway.
    ·  Most recently Éva has made her company début with New York’s One World Symphony as the Third Maid (Elektra), and was invited back to sing the roles of Larina and Filipievna (Eugene Onegin) later in the season.
    ·  In opera scenes concerts she has appeared as Dorabella (Così Fan Tutte) with New York Opera Forum, and in the title roles of Carmen and King Arthur, as well as Marcellina (Le Nozze Di Figaro) and Third Spirit (Die Zauberflöte) with the Crittenden Opera Studio in Boston, MA.
    ·  Ms. Látrányi made her Carnegie Hall début in Weill Recital Hall as a featured soloists of New York Grand Opera, singing excerpts as Maddalena (Rigoletto) and Suzuki (Madama Butterfly).
    ·  Upcoming highlights will include the role of Sister Zelatrice (Suor Angelica) with Opera Theater of Connecticut this summer, as a result of her performance at the company’s singing competition.

    ·  Éva’s concert experience include the title role of Händel’s oratorio The Choice of Hercules and the role of Dionysus in Ned Rorem’s cantata King Midas with Opera Harmonia in White Plains, NY.
    ·  She has performed a large number of excerpts from oratorios and sacred works at First Church Congregational of Fairfield, CT, where she has been the Alto Soloist since 2006.
    ·  Ms. Látrányi was a featured soloist at the 50th Anniversary Celebration of United Church of Christ at the stadium of Hartford Civic Center, CT, where she sang for an audience of 10000, and her performance was recorded and broadcasted with a national webcast.

    ·  A native of Siófok, Hungary, Éva won her first singing award at the early age of 14 at a Hungarian Folk Song Competition.
    ·  She received her B.A. in Music Education at the prestigious Eötvös Loránd University’s Teacher Training Department in Budapest, and studied voice with Márta Balatinecz at the Conservatory of Pécs in Hungary.
    ·  She continued her voice studies in the US attending The Juilliard School’s Opera Workshop with NYGO’s conductor Maestro Vincent La Selva.
    ·  Éva is currently studying with Metropolitan Opera soprano Sharon Sweet in Princeton, NJ, and opera coach Douglas Dickson of Yale School of Music in New Haven, CT.
